This is my student, Jaddon Derico from Havana, Fla. Jaddon just completed his second year at Munroe and will enter his senior year in August. He is a very good student and holds a 3.1 GPA. He also plays football and basketball, is well-liked and hard working.
Jaddon's academic success and leadership potential
led him to being selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: National Security, which is an Envision program to be held in late July in Washington DC. The forum is partnered with George Mason University and is a six-day program for students interested in "the many disciplines that keep the U.S. safe." The program seeks to enhance the leadership skills of targeted youth through this experience. While in Washington, he will meet with top policy makers and experts in security, intelligence and diplomacy. He will also visit institutions in our nation's capital, such as foreign embassies and military facilities. He will also receive college credit through George Mason University. Oh, and he will also tour the Capitol building, visit the memorials and and build great memories!
Jaddon's post-high school plans are to major in Forensic Science and then become a U.S. Marshall.
As Jaddon's teacher for the past two years, I would like to support a young man's goal and to help Jaddon and his family afford the $3,000 cost for the forum. He was awarded a $350 scholarship already. His family is working on fundraising also through their church, bake sales and carwashes.
I believe this endeavor has the potential to be life-changing and will allow Jaddon to achieve his goal of working toward's America's security.
Please consider donating any amount to help this young man begin to build his future in public service.
Thank you!
