Help Jacque Beat Cancer and Return to Teaching
Donation protected
I’m writing this for my beautiful, intelligent, and incredibly strong sister, Jacque. Not only was she fulfilling her life’s purpose of teaching Kindergarten but she was also well on her way to obtaining her Master’s in Special Education when she received this cancer diagnosis. On January 2nd 2025 she was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which required immediate and intensive treatment.
This diagnosis has turned her world upside down, but she is facing it with humor & resilience. However, the road to recovery will not be easy. Jacque is undergoing the Hyper-CVAD chemotherapy protocol and has completed the first round at UCSF. She has been transferred to UC Davis to complete this protocol before starting a bone marrow transplant.
Her dedication to her students and her passion for teaching have always been at the heart of everything she does. However, as a second-year teacher, Jacque doesn’t have the number of sick days needed to cover the extended time required for cancer treatment and a bone marrow transplant. If everything goes perfectly, she is looking at recovery in 2-3 years, and returning to teaching in 2027.
The funds raised here will help Jacque cover her medical bills and ensure that she can continue to live independently while focusing on her health, recovery, and happiness. Due to the dynamic nature of this disease, we are unsure of how much support Jacque will need long term.
Jacque has always been a selfless person, dedicated to her students and those she loves. Now, it's our turn to show her that same love and support. Your generous donation will make a real difference in her ability to focus on healing, without the added worry of financial strain.
Any amount you can contribute will be deeply appreciated, and if you're unable to donate, we ask that you keep Jacque in your thoughts and prayers, and share this page with others who might be able to help.
Thank you for your love & support,
Thomas Family
