Jacob's Fight Against HIV

Donation protected
Anyone who has met Jacob Wrightsman would tell you how uplifting and enjoyable he is to be around. His enthusiasm is contagious. This is why I am asking for help to save his life. This isn't hyperbole; this isn't some twisted joke.

In the middle of September, Jacob got truly lifechanging news from his doctors when they diagnosed him with HIV. Obviously, those closest to him feared the worst while we waited for the blood and genetic tests to reveal the prognosis. While his white blood cell counts are shockingly low the genetic tests on the HIV strain revealed good news, it is a generic strain that can be treated! For those who may be unaware, HIV Research has come a long way in the last 20 years with many HIV positive individuals able to live long and happy lives decades after the diagnosis. This could be Jacob's future but he needs help. To make matters worse, his health has steadily declined over the last 6 months and, in particular, during the month leading up to his admitance to The Ohio State University Medical Center. He spent 3 weeks there bracketed around the Thanksgiving holiday, was released for a week, and is now there again.

The medication to treat Jacob is $3,000 per month with his medical insurance covering 80%. This still leaves $600 per month, ongoing, which is unabtainable for someone without means. These funds will give Jacob 1 year, worry free, to secure alternate financing to assist him with his vital, lifesaving medications and provide slight financial relief from the more than $10,000 in medical bills he has accrued over the last few months. The need is URGENT and VITAL.

For those in the Masonic Community who read this, Jacob is a Past State Scribe for Ohio DeMolay in 2006 and his Grandfather was a lifelong member of Lodge. A brother is truly in need.

I know what it is like to say goodbye to those that I love. I know what it is like to lose someone far too early in their life. Jacob will not be one of those people. Jacob is going to live. And, believe it or not, you can help, truly. I hope that you will consider making a gift, no matter how small, because Jacob is worth it and always has been.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Holidays, and God Bless.
