Jacob's Fight Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Meagan and this fundraiser is for the one... the only... Jacob Sloan. Husband to my younger sister (Anna) and one heck of a brother-in-law. Jacob had been sick for the last couple months, and in true male fashion, it took some convincing to get him to go to the doctor. When he went to the Urgent Care, they found a heart murmur and performed an EKG. From those results, it showed that his heart was so irregular it was mimicking a heart attack, so they sent him to the emergency room for a CAT scan. At the ER, the scan showed he had a ten cm mass in his chest. At this point, the doctor transferred them to a cancer hospital where he went through three days of tests and biopsies which confirmed that the mass in his chest was cancerous, as well as signs of cancer in his ribs, sternum, clavicle, and skull. After four straight days in the hospital, Anna and Jacob finally got the heartbreaking results.

Jacob was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and a heart disease called WPW (Wolff-Parkinson-White). Typically, WPW is a common heart condition, but due to the cancer the doctors are worried about it causing problems in the future. So, once Jacob completes six months of Chemo, or what we like to call Jacob’s Juice, they will perform heart surgery.

As you all know…chemo sucks. Chemo sucks even more because it is not cheap. And despite Anna and Jacob telling me “No” repeatedly, I made this Go Fund Me page, in order to show them how much we are there for them and love them. ALL money raised will be sent to Anna and Jacob for his cancer treatment and heart surgery. Anything anyone can contribute they are beyond grateful for. More about our wonderful Jacob. Jacob Sloan is newly 28 years old. Anna and Jacob met while they were both working in the mission field. They have been married for six years, and currently live in Kentucky with their dog Archer. Jacob loves to travel and has been to 13 different countries.
