Hello, 
Please find it in your heart to help our dear friend Jackie and her mother Maria during this difficult time. 
On Jan 16th 2021 Maria was rushed to the hospital after experiencing complications from COVID. She was placed into a medically induced coma and intubated. Maria is currently in the ICU fighting for her life.... doctors have done everything they can to support her body during this fight. We hope and pray that there will be improvement over the next few days.
On January 20th Maria’s daughter Jackie was also rushed to the hospital for COVID related symptoms! Jackie is recovering and is expected to be discharged from Mission Hospital soon. Sadly, she will be sent home alone  - while her mother Maria continues to fight this virus. 
Most of you know Jackie from volunteering at the Aquarium of the Pacific, or have seen her friendly face on the local whale watching boats. Jackie has dedicated thousands of volunteer hours to the Aquarium of the Pacific and is always a friendly helping hand for anyone who is in need. Jackie’s only family in California is her mother. At this time Jackie is facing financial uncertainty; without the financial assistance of her mother or access to her mother’s accounts, it would be impossible to cover all of the necessary basic expenses on her own. 
We are asking for any donations to help with Jackie’s medical expenses, assistance with basic living expenses such as rent and food as well as medical expenses for her mother Maria.
