Please Help my Son

Hello Friends,

JT (John Thomas) Baldwin is a father of 7 (6 sons and 1 daughter) and married to Sharon. Both JT and Sharon have served our country in the Army. JT now works for the government and Sharon, who just earned her master's degree, stayed home to raise their children and just recently got a part-time job to help with the family’s needs and get back into the workforce. Just three and a half years ago, at the age of 46, JT was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He received a bone marrow transplant on his mother's birthday, April 13th. What a beautiful gift! At that time, he was given a 45% survival rate. Without that transplant, he was given a 5% chance of survival. To this family, that is just a number. They are strong believers and the Lord has promised Sharon that her husband is going to live. JT is turning 50 at the end of this month (May).

JT must remain within 30 minutes of the hospital that gave him the transplant and the family’s home is over 50 minutes away. JT is staying at a facility for patients receiving treatment at the hospital and their family members. The facility puts him just four blocks from the hospital, but keeps him away from the daily activity of his family in Fredericksburg, VA. It was impossible to move the entire family at such short notice. One of his older sons has taken a break from college and is helping to take care of him at the facility, which will be his home for the next 6 months to a year. He needs constant, around-the-clock care and cannot be left alone.

The family bond is so strong and they are doing what they know how to do - working together to help support their beloved father, husband and son.

It's been an extremely difficult journey for this family but they have a foundation that will see them through this. They keep moving forward until the day their dad/husband returns home. It has been a financial strain for them as there are still bills to be paid, travel expenses to visit him as well as daily extra expenses associated with their situation.

JT is being paid right now, but only because other workers have donated leave. As his condition improves, he will be able to work a small amount but that won’t be for another couple of months, and won’t meet the family’s expenses. We are hoping and praying that his job will still be there for him when he is released. The financial burdens are adding up. Please help bless this family to help them with their added expenses. It would give this father some peace of mind that his family has help while he is recovering. If you are unable to donate, you can still help by keeping this precious family in your thoughts and prayers. You can also help by sharing this page with your family and friends.
