J.Tracy Hermann Memorial Fund
(Organized by Christ Church Poughkeepsie)

J. Tracy  Hermann unexpectedly passed away on March 3, 2016 at age 52 of a massive heart attack leaving behind his beloved husband and daughter.  This fund is being set up for the education and care of Roxy, his 11 year-old daughter.

Tracy married his beloved husband Matthew McNamara in 2004. In 2006, they adopted their beloved daughter Roxanne. Tracy and his family moved to the New York area in 2009 where he began his public service while pursuing his Master's Degree at Marist College in Public Administration. He became a small business owner, an adjunct professor at Marist College, and most recently was named the Executive Director of the LGBTQ Center in Kingston, New York. Tracy was a very active and generous member of the Christ Episcopal Church.

In 2013, Tracy was elected to the Common Council of Poughkeepsie representing the 8th Ward and was overwhelmingly reelected in 2015. "Tracy was a dedicated public servant whose passion for the city showed through in everything he did and in return was beloved by the city of Poughkeepsie," Mayor Robert Rollison said. "I was proud to serve and work alongside Tracy, but was prouder to call him my friend."

Tracy is remembered for his wonderful southern charm and warmth. He worked tirelessly in the community for LGBTQ issues. Flags are hanging at half-mast throughout the city and the Mid-Hudson Valley Bridge is lit in rainbow colors in loving memory and gratitude for all he did.

Donations to support Tracy's daughter Roxy can be made to this fund or can be sent to: J. Tracy Hermann Memorial Fund c/o M & T Bank, 4 Jefferson Plaza Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
