I started this fundraiser to raise money for a major, challenging life transition that is taking me deeper into service to God and God's Church.
As many of you know, I got divorced this year and am relocating to Tennessee (from Rhode Island) to start Seminary at Sewanee. In the meantime I'm writing a book for Church Publishing (without an advance) and have no consistent income for the next two months. I am seeking to give my life and work to the glory of God, and God has provided generously for me, but I am staring down a steep deficit, and could use your help.
I am raising my goal just a little bit and reactivating donations in the hope that those who have extra will share it. All of the donations go to keeping me alive and well, and paying initial costs of going back to school, including books, housing deposits, etc.
Here are some of the things I've been able to do with donations so far:
- $2000 Half of retainer for divorce lawyer
- $400 Move phone off of ex's account
- $150 New brakes on my car
- $379 Car insurance for first half of '25
- $1244 New desktop computer, all doodads included, rather essential for school, work, and life.
Here are the things I would like to be able to do moving forward:
- Food and gas during my road trip down to Sewanee
- Car insurance for the second half of 2025 (due this month)
- Keep my web presence going
- My car was hit (and run) in an MBTA parking lot last week, so I would like to repair it at some point...but this is the lowest priority. In the meantime, my dad buffed it for me and it looks good, but I will need to replace the door panel.
I've worked really hard to keep my expenses low and my bank balance in the black. I understand the significance of just giving money to someone in need right now, and I pledge to be responsible with your contributions. I’m happy to answer questions about this plan and I will keep you updated as I take next steps.
