HELP Jenni & Marilyn Move to NYC
Hello friends, family & maybe even strangers!
Jenni and Marilyn are born and raised in Southern California and have decided that it is time for a life-changing experience. For the last three months we have been fantasizing about living life in New York. As well as reconnecting with friends and family that we haven't connected with in recent years.
We recently visited NYC and simply fell in love with the culture, architecture, and diversity that it has to offer.
As you may know, Jenni and Marilyn both work for the same company as servers & bartenders. We have an opportunity to help our workplace open the first restaurant location of its kind in Queens, NYC. But the deadline is quickly approaching, we have 4 short weeks to uproot our lives and DRIVE across the country to New York, New York.
With the company's minimal relocation assistance, our savings emptied, and selling everything we own for whatever's its worth, and a little bit of your help, we just might make it there.
I just want to mention that there's is NO pressure to donate. If you do or don't, at the end of the day we understand! Regardless, we are not asking our friends and family to empty their wallets for us because this move is NOT a life or death situation. But, if you can spare $1, $5, $10 in support of someone's dream, we will be FOREVER grateful. And you can count on us to show you around NY if you're ever in town, or possibly even save you the hotel stay by crashing with us in our future home!
We know we have the GUTS to make this cross-country move across the United States. But sometimes GUTS just isn't enough. This is a call for help! We are asking our friends and family, and those of you who simply stumbled upon this GoFundMe to find it in your hearts to help support our dream. We would love to support you in yours as well, when the time comes!
WHAT WE HAVE:
- Jenni receives minimal relocation assistance that would ONLY cover the security desposit on our apartment, to take it off the market.
- Money from a MOVING SALE of EVERYTHING (because it's too expensive to transport it) -which isn't much.
- A safe and reliable car to drive us across the country.
- A dream.
WHAT WE STILL NEED:
- Uhaul hitch + trailer expenses ~ quoted $1,000 for the hitch installation and trailer rental.
- Moving boxes expenses ~ $ ---
- Travelling expenses (i.e. gasoline for the 2,919 mile cross-country drive, food, at least one night of rest in a safe motel). ~ $500+ on Gas, $250+ on food and rest
- House Essentials upon arrival (i.e. bed frame, dresser, refrigerator, kitchen essentials, etc.) ~ $ ---
- Money for unexpected expenses ~ $ ---
When we get there we will have NO furnishings, it's just Jenni, Marilyn, our two cats (Khaleesi + Bixby), a mattress and boxspring, and a few boxes of precious belongings. 
As you can see our hearts are full of excitement. We hope and pray to God and the Universe that this dream can come true. This is a huge leap of faith that we are taking, and we ABSOLUTELY (lol) appreciate any and all that you can do to help us. Every donation COUNTS and quickly adds up.
