Donny Beckwith of Interior Moves and James and Dee Dee Littrell of Ruby Living Design are reaching out to you!
Jose Godinez has worked in the interior design industry for more than 15 years, and I am confident that there will be no arguments when I say that he is the absolute best at what he does. Jose's work ethic and his un-paralleled sense of pride in everything he works on and everyone he works with is the reason that there are thousands of us in this industry that know or know of Jose. Because of this I am reaching out to our industry on behalf of Jose; for the first time any
of us will read or hear - Jose needs our help now.
Jose has a 11 year old daughter; her name is Ximena. Ximena is an honor role student at St. Elizabeth School, in Oakland, where she is a captain of the basketball team and 1 semester away from earning a scholarship to Holy Names High School.

On March 15, 2016, Ximena started complaining of headaches and also had a slight fever. Ximena isn't one to complain about such things so after a few days of complaining Jose and his wife, Gema, took Ximena to the emergency room at the Oakland Children's Hospital. After several trips back and forth to the Hospital Ximena was given an MRI which revealed her brain was suffering from severe pressure as a result of fluids getting trapped in her skull and not draining properly. The doctors still haven't diagnosed what caused the initial swelling or infection, but they had to remove a portion of her skull to release the pressure. The hope was that after the swelling went down Ximena would regain consciousness with a minimal amount of damage and whatever the initial infection was would be cleared up.
Although the infection has since cleared, it took longer than a month for Ximena to show her first signs of trying to wake up. Ximena remained in and out of a coma for more than 2 and a half months. She is now awake, but she cannot breath or eat on her own, and to this point is still not able to speak due to breathing and feeding tubes
Jose, Gema, Sebastian (Ximena's little brother) have seen many signs of improvement that have kept their hope and faith strong. Ximena recognizes her family and will sit with them for hours each day listening to songs, stories, and her family talk to each other while sitting around her. Teachers from Ximena's school, friends, coaches, church members, and family friends visit and sit with Ximena every day and they all see her growing stronger and stronger each day.

We are now more than 7 months into this incredibly stressful ordeal and although Ximena has continued to show signs of improvement there is still a very long road ahead. The hospital is telling Jose that Ximena should be ready to go home within a few months. The costs associated with this situation have been incredibly burdensome and once Jose and Gema will have to take care of Ximena at their home the cost will only increase.

Anyone that knows Jose knows that he is an incredibly proud person and chances are he has never asked you for anything. Jose and his family need any and all of the help they can get. Their insurance will not cover all of the expenses and can only cover a certain percentage of it especially with all of the different types of treatments and therapies she will need. So we are asking to donate gracefully because this will help provide financial support toward Ximena's long recovery.
I will keep everyone updated on Ximena's condition and her road to recovery. No amount is too small, and I know that Gema would ask that you keep Ximena in your prayers .
