I'm Sarah. The night before Thanksgiving my brother, "JJ", lost his life in an instant. His wife and children lost their everything and our family is heartbroken. JJ (aka Jesse, aka Jesus Jacob) was a devoted husband, father to three young kids, a great son, brother, and the sole provider for his family. It was a horrible car accident that left his car mangled beyond recognition and that JJ was no longer with us. It was after a couple of hours and local  online news ‌ reports that his wife, Marlena, learned that JJ had lost his life just a few blocks away from their home.

A great void was left with many as of Wednesday night... Especially our family. My brother was a family man. Since I can remember, JJ always valued and strived for the ability to go above and beyond to provide for his family. He bore the financial burden to ensure that his wife could be a full-time mother to their children and that our parents would always have a place to call home. As extended family and friends help me rally around them, our immediate goal is to provide relief and support to them for funeral costs and give any money left over to his wife and kids. I believe the best way to honor "JJ" is by going above and beyond, as he would, to make sure his family is well taken care of and help Marlena navigate through the next phase of their lives without added weight and pressure of the unknown.

Even if you can't give, no support and gesture of sympathy is too small. It all means more than you know. Thank you!
