Mississippi Rush Fundraiser FBO JFC Complex Flood
Tax deductible
This fund is being established by Mississippi Futbol Club/Mississippi Rush for the benefit of the Jackson Futbol Club Complex. Please be aware, all donation receipts will show Mississippi Futbol Club (Mississippi Rush's designation under their non-profit status). After the campaign ends, all funds will be donated to Jackson Futbol Club.
The Jackson Futbol Club (JFC) is located in Jackson, Mississippi and serves 2000+ players and parents thru their recreational program, adult soccer and their affiliation with Rush Soccer on the competitive team side. It is the considered the home complex of Mississippi Rush Soccer.
Since last Thursday, JFC has been impacted by the flooding of the Pearl River. The river reached the 3rd highest stage in Mississippi history on Monday 2/17/2020. The highest stages reached were in 1979 at 43.28 feet and 1983 at 39.58 feet and it crest right at 38 feet at the complex itself on February 17 because of its close proximity to the Pearl River. Other areas around experienced crests up to 36.7 feet. The complex is completely under water at this time.
JFC was established in 1980. It is privately run with no help from the city, county or state. So therefore the organization runs strictly off registration fees, donations and fundraisers to fund every aspect.
It was discovered when filing claims on property insurance, that the complex has a flood exclusion, therefore renders most of their policy void. This flood will have quite an impact on their yearly budget.
Mississippi Rush is establishing this account for the benefit of Jackson Futbol Club to help with complex and pollution cleanup, replacement of any structures needed as well as anything that is needed to get the complex ready to play again. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
The complex is located in the back of a neighborhood, so lots of families were also effected by this flooding as well as lots of families and businesses in Jackson and surrounding cities. After JFC is able to open, there are also plans to help the community around the complex with cleanup in anyway they can, as lots of people did not have flood insurance. They plan to have cleanup days for the complex and the neighborhood as well as a service to the community.
Here are just some pictures of the flooding.
