Hi, my name is Natalie Raye. I am 26 and I am located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. I’m someone who has always worked hard, cared deeply for others, and tried to handle life’s challenges quietly and independently. I never thought I would need to ask for help like this, but after surviving domestic violence, I am now in the position of having to rebuild my life from the ground up.
In early January, I was violently assaulted by my former partner inside our shared home. I feared for my life and contacted the police. An Emergency Protection From Abuse (PFA) order was granted shortly afterward.
My abuser was arrested after being found in illegal possession of a firearm, which he was prohibited from having due to a prior felony. He was held on a $75,000 bond. Several days later, his mother flew in from California, posted his bond, arranged housing, and hired both a PFA attorney and a criminal defense attorney on his behalf. After his release, he returned to California, while I remained behind to navigate the legal process and rebuild on my own.
My Emergency PFA has since been amended and remains in effect until the court decides otherwise.
I am now solely responsible for the home we shared under a joint lease. My rent is $1,995 per month, in addition to utilities and living expenses. I must also provide for myself and my two service animals, who are essential to my safety and daily functioning.
I am currently in intensive therapy to heal from the trauma I endured. The funds from this GoFundMe will go toward rent, food, utilities, transportation, therapy, and the care of my service animals.
Any support helps—even $25 makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means more than you know.
Thank you for believing me and for helping me move forward toward safety and healing.
