Hi I'm Isla and I’m fundraising for my place on a school expedition to Borneo with World Challenge! Next summer, I have the incredible opportunity to spend three weeks in the Borneo rainforest! I will be volunteering on an environmental conservation project and will be learning first-hand about endangered wildlife, including orangutans. I will also be undertaking a mountainous jungle trek and sleeping in the wild!

Over the last few months, I’ve been busy fundraising and I’m now half way towards my target of £5,000! My next fundraising venture is a personal physical challenge - a two day long Duathalon along the North Devon Coast. I’m going to be hiking 15 miles of the South West Coastpath - from Woolacombe to Braunton – whilst litter picking along the way. At Braunton, I’m going to swap my walking boots for my bike and cycle 33 miles, following the Tarka Trail to the end of the trail at Meeth!

PS Some other things I’ve been doing to fundraise for this trip are: making Christmas hot chocolate kits and Easter sweet treats, a cake bake, selling ice creams at local events and helping to run a fundraising quiz! I also have a weekend job in a café, am delivering leaflets and am cat sitting and babysitting for my neighbours too.
