Dear family, friend and supporter
My name is Isaac Kaiso, a 22-year-old student, poet, writer, basketball player from Kamuli, Uganda.
Last year I got a chance to be accepted to study Aerospace Engineering at Clarkson University in Postdam New York. one of the top 25 STEM schools in USA.
Growing up, I have always adored and embraced aerospace engineering. From origami's to fractures at 10, while trying to test parachutes that I made from Mummy's bedsheets. My location has been a big factor to me as a dreamer, it has felt impossible to make it this fa, Kamuli is one of the small towns in Uganda and access to even the knowledge about Clarkson University has been a privilege that lies in research and zeal to be the change.
My father always told me to look beyond and I have tried my best not to fail him.
At 12, I unfortunately lost him to peptic ulcers and since he was the bread winner at home, the weight shifted to my mom and me.
My mother lost her husband at a young age of 37. It breaks my heart every time I realize that she has barely ‘lived life’ as a wife or a girl. All her life has been dedicated towards pushing us towards our dreams, fighting just so we can make it to as far as Clarkson and beyond!
For so many times, I have come through for her as far as tuition and home bills, are concerned especially during my high school.
Getting into Clarkson University is a cowrie of hope to change the texture of life for me, my twin brothers and perhaps give my mother a genuine smile. Its been a long stretch!
But without funding, this dream and my project ECH (Electrification through Cloud Harnessing) could vanish before takeoff. I am devising a way to generate electricity through storms and cumulus clouds.
Due to strong academic record, a dual pesticide and fertilizer project, I developed with my 3 classmates, Clarkson University generously offered me some financial Aid. However, the remaining gap is still significant to cover my cost of attendance.
Our future, me, my mom and my 3 brothers depends on my ability to make it into this University.
I therefore call upon you all for a hand.
I am Raising For:
Tuition & Lab Fees: $62,534/year after scholarships (covers critical aerospace courses and research).
ECH Prototyping: Funds will test cloud-based aircraft charging, a green aviation breakthrough.
Travel/Visas: To attend Clarkson this Spring 2025.
Why This Matters:
Among many reasons, I believe ECH could cut flight emissions by 30% using atmospheric energy.
I will be able to mentor teens in STEM, paying forward every dollar donated.
$50 donated, I can access 1 aerodynamics textbook
For every $500, I get access to 1 week in Clarkson’s propulsion lab.
For every $5,000, I can afford ECH patent filing
Help rewrite what’s possible for African innovators.
And together let’s turn this dream into legacy!
Thank you for making it this far. I appreciate your support.
