Intro to Cosplay Crafting Channel Equipment

Hey everyone I'm Chris Dixon aka MrTetris. I'm a 30 year old black single father, blerd, "new" cosplayer and foamsmith from NYC. I'm currently working on a YouTube/ twitch channel to introduce Black/POC cosplayers to foamsmithing and creating their own armors to wear. These channels will work along side my cosplay armor commission business (that I would like to soon get a business license for to legitimize it) by streaming the building of commissions. I ultimately would also like to expand my crafting commission business and relocate to a large space than my bedroom to create and stream in ATL area next year (working progress) to work with other black crafters, painters, 3d designers, graphic artists, photographers and seamstresses. I started cosplaying late October 2019 and began crafting armors in March 2020 just when the COVID-19 pandemic made the city go into lockdown and I took all that time in quarantine to hone my crafting techniques and creative methods. I learned from plenty of amazing youtube crafters with their tutorials but the major lacking thing for me was that none of them looked or sounded like me. I have no black role models who stream cosplay tutorials as of yet so I decided to work towards being that role model for the cosplay community. I've been working for the last few months to inspire a new wave of Black/POC cosplayers to help normalize us within the cosplay community that breeds so much racism, colorism, homophobia,  transphobia, body shaming and ignorance from outside as well as within.  Crafting has been such a therapeutic and creative relief for me especially within the quarantine and I want to continue sharing what I've learned in my platforms I've been working hard to grow but I'll need help and equipment to begin. I am currently on the immediate goal of raising $1,200 for the camera with content creator kit, a photography lighting setup, photography backdrop and video editing software.


Any and all assistance towards my goal would be greatly appreciated as I'm hoping to launch my channels and begin recording in mid August. Thank you so much for the love and support that got me this far as well as all that will get me further.
