Integritas Healthcare, the Christian faith-inspired medical NGO with a heart for detainees, suffered a devastating loss out in the Philippines earlier this year. Our elderly van (an old-style Hyundai Starex) went to his eternal rest after many years of faithful service...
- taking us to 1000s of sick detainees in police stations and jails
- delivering fresh hot meals to ravenous police detainees
- taking clients to our clinic and to hospitals
- ferrying pastors to share the Bible with detainees
- battling through high flood waters
- visiting ex-detainees & dependents, even up trash mountains!
We haven't had any spare funds to simply pop out and buy even a second-hand replacement. So we're having to fundraise. Meanwhile our outputs have slowed and our public transport costs have skyrocketed.
We'd like to ring the changes with a Mitsubishi L300. This is cheaper and more basic than a modern Starex. And it will be more easily convertible into a dual purpose ambulance van. We need to raise between £6k and £10k (~$13,500, €11,500 or P750,000) for a van young enough to endure many years of hard labor in the punishing Philippine climate.
