In Honor, In Memory - Jeff Frenz

It is with so much sorrow and pain, that we write about the unexpected passing of Jeffrey Frenz. We know that not only our immediate family, but all those who knew and loved Jeff are sharing our grief during this time. We are humbled and touched by the outpouring of love and support from his community of friends and family.

Jeff was a respected and honorable man, an impeccable human being, a valued friend, an airman who proudly wore the uniform, a loyal son, a beloved brother, and a devoted uncle.

As a child, Jeff loved trains, airplanes, legos and 3D puzzles. He played little league baseball, ice hockey, and was on competitive bowling leagues. He collected beanie babies and key chains. His typical look was a New Jersey Devil or Chicago Bears hat with sunglasses, a tee shirt, a hoody, a pair of cargo shorts, and flip-flops. Jeffrey drove the same red Toyota truck he and his dad picked out for 17 years. He was unpretentious and modest.

Jeff’s favorite color was always green. Green is connected with growth, and generosity. Personality strengths are perfectionistic, analytical, inventive and logical; seeking knowledge and understanding, explanations and answers. This is Jeffrey in a color.

Jeff found purpose and sacrificed himself in serving his country and being strong for everyone he loved and cared about. He managed his pain, for us, as long as he could.

What made Jeff special are the individual and collective experiences he had and the memories he made with each one of us.

We are grateful and inspired by the outpouring of love and support from our family, our community of friends and Jeff’s friends who want to pay tribute to him. The variety of your suggestions are as unique and special as Jeff himself and we would be honored to receive and implement your contribution.
  • Add a memory, a story, a photo, or a video that you have of, or with Jeff. We know he had experiences and created memories that are uniquely your own. To be able to share Jeff with each other will bring us comfort and we can see Jeff through your eyes.
  • Consider a donation that would contribute to Jeff's celebration of life ceremony, where we can come together to laugh, to cry, and to heal with each other.
  • Jeff comes from a long line of military veterans great-grandfather-Army, great uncle-Air Force, grandfather-Air Force, grandfather-National Guard, and uncle-Air Force. Your donation can be toward a memorial/monument in Jeff's honor at the New Mexico Veteran's Memorial Garden in Albuquerque; at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Rio Rancho; and at the Oasis Veterans Memorial Park, Chandler, AZ. Each location holds a special significance and would give immediate family and friends ongoing visitation to process grief and preserve his memory.
  • For the family and those passionate about supporting our country's veterans, a donation in this way will go toward a disabled veteran program or organization

Please feel free to specify where you would like your donation allocated. As the funds are allocated, we will post updates so that you know how these are being utilized to honor Jeff's life.

Jeff - We hate that you’re gone, but are so glad you are free. Forever loved, forever missed.
