Helloo!

Back in 2023 my best friend and her husband welcomed the beautiful Mia June into the world on the 2nd May; she made a surprise early entry into the world at just 24 weeks +1 day and was cared for by the incredible team at the James Cook University NICU team. Unfortunately, Mia passed away on the 29th August. Without the team at James Cook NICU and the equipment they have, many babies wouldn't be able to have the care and help that they vitally need; they have around 400 admissions each year so this can be a very busy unit.

Mia's parents, are raising money to buy an incubator in her memory to donate to the NICU to help more babies who either enter this world early or need vital care. So, I have decided, that since this year would have been Mia's 2nd birthday on the 2nd of May, to set myself the challenge of hiking 200 miles (322km) throughout the month of June. I will be sharing each journey along with the distances each week.

My initial target is £2000, which is just a drop in the ocean to put towards the cost of the incubator but, it is another step closer to being able to give back to the amazing team at James Cook. Any donations we are incredibly grateful for and truly appreciate the support.
