In Loving Memory of Princess
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Vanessa Lam, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my baby girl, Princess.
Princess has been my best friend, my companion, and my heart for so many years. She’s been there through everything—always full of love, always making our home feel whole. Right now, she’s fighting the biggest battle of her life, and we are doing everything we can to give her the best care possible and as much time as we can with her.
Her Health Journey
2023: Princess was diagnosed with cancer—a mammary gland tumor that was removed, but unfortunately, it came back. Over the past year, she has also been managing an enlarged gallbladder with medication.
March 20, 2025: She suddenly became lethargic, lost her appetite, and had difficulty breathing. Her heart rate was abnormally high, and she was coughing frequently.
March 21, 2025: Her condition worsened—she was still refusing food, struggling with shallow breaths, and had an extremely high respiratory rate. We made the decision to rush her to the emergency vet that evening.
At the ER: The vet told us she was in unstable condition. After multiple tests—ultrasounds, X-rays, and bloodwork—they found a large lymphoma, fluid in her lungs, and signs of congestive heart disease. She was immediately put on oxygen therapy, heart medication, and diuretics to help stabilize her.
March 22, 2025: After 24 hours in the hospital, she showed some improvement—her appetite returned, and she had more energy, but her breathing was still unstable. The vet recommended another 24 hours of hospitalization to continue treatment.
March 23, 2025: She is still reliant on oxygen therapy. Her respiratory rate remains high (56 breaths per minute when it should be 30-40). The vet gave us two options:
Option 1: Take her home now and hope the medication alone will help. However, this could undo all the progress she has made.
Option 2: Hospitalize her for another 24 hours to continue oxygen therapy, medication, and monitoring in hopes that she will be strong enough to come home.
We chose option 2 because, more than anything, we want to give her the best care possible—to give her more time with us and ensure she has the best quality of life.
Why We Need Help
The cost of her care has added up quickly—between emergency visits, overnight hospital stays, oxygen therapy, ultrasounds, X-rays, medications, and continuous monitoring, the financial burden is becoming overwhelming. We never expected it to reach this point, and we are doing everything in our power to keep her comfortable and give her the best quality of life.
I never like to ask for help, but so many friends and loved ones have encouraged me to create this GoFundMe. If you are able to contribute, any amount would mean the world to us. Every donation will go directly toward Princess’s medical care and giving her the best possible life with whatever time she has left.
Princess is more than just a pet—she’s my baby, my best friend, and my heart. My family and I love her so much. I am not ready to say goodbye. Please help us bring her home.
Thank you so much for your kindness, love, and support. Even if you’re unable to donate, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers—that alone means so much to me.
