In Memory of Glenn Korsnes from Charles Pfeiffer
Donation protected
I have very sad news for the Staten Island community. Glenn Korsnes, the owner of Charles Pfeiffer Medical, suffered a massive heart attack in the early morning hours of February 16, 2025. Despite the paramedics best efforts, he did not survive it. He was only 50 years old.
He was my best friend for 34 of those years. I was there when Charles Pfeiffer moved from their old location on Victory Blvd, to their current Jewett Ave location. I worked long hours side by side with him during the move, as we worked on transforming the store into what you walk in to today, which Glenn was so very proud of. Glenn and I enjoyed many fishing trips together along with racing RC cars. He and his wife Tara spent each Christmas Eve and New Years Eve with me and my family at my home as they have no family of their own here on SI.
Glenn would have done ANYTHING for anyone - he had a heart of gold and went above & beyond for the Staten Island community, making sure if you went in for medical supplies, that he would do whatever it took for you to get you what you needed, even if he himself couldn't get it for you. He always found a way to help those in need.
Glenn leaves behind his wife Tara, whom he has been with for 30 years, and their beloved cats. As if his unexpected death wasn't tragic enough, Tara has been privately battling cancer these past couple of years. Glenn made sure he was with her for each and every oncology appt and chemotherapy treatment. He was her entire world, her main support system, and he made sure to take care of her any way he could while still handling the responsibilities of being the owner of a business the Staten Island community needed so much.
Because of her health issues, Tara does not work, although you may have met and seen her at the store from time to time when she would pop in to visit Glenn. She is determined to keep the store open in Glenn's memory and honor, as Glenn lived & breathed for it, and because she also realizes how important the business is for Staten Island.
Let's band together and ease the burden Glenn's very unexpected and untimely death has brought upon her. She is absolutely devastated and could use help with funeral home and other final expenses, there's a mortgage she is now left with along with all the other expenses life brings. Glenn did so much for the community and the least we can do for him is to help Tara out.
Any little bit helps. And if you can't donate then prayers, thoughts and well wishes are always greatly appreciated as well. You could share this page as well. Thank you.
Per Glenn’s wishes, there was a private cremation and a celebration of his life will follow, likely during the summer months. An announcement will be made when a date is set.
