In memory of Kristin Beirne.
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Adam Levy, and I’m writing this on behalf of my dear friend Chris Beirne, whose beloved wife, Kristin, passed away on August 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with illness.
Those who knew Kristin were touched by her incredible warmth, strength, humility, and devotion to her family. Her loss leaves a profound hole in the lives of all who loved her.
I’ve created this GoFundMe to honor Kristin’s legacy and to support her and Chris’s greatest joy and priority: their children, Alexandra and Grayson. Your generous donations will be used to fund their future educational needs—something Kristin cared deeply about as both a mother and an educator.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to this fund in Kristin’s memory. No gift is too small. Every donation is a meaningful expression of love and support for a family navigating unimaginable grief.
To truly honor who Kristin was, we’ve included her full obituary below:
Kristin Ryan Beirne, 47 of Southport, CT, passed away Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, following a courageous fight against the illness that ultimately took her life.
Born in Norwalk, CT in 1978, Kristin grew up in Westport and lived in Virginia during and after her time at the College of William & Mary, before settling back in Fairfield County, CT. Her roots in Westport run deep. A 1996 graduate of Staples High School, she was a decorated soccer and basketball player and recipient of the prestigious Albie Loeffler Scholarship, awarded for academic excellence, athletic achievement, integrity, and strong family values. She went on to attend the College of William & Mary, where she played Division I soccer and earned All-Conference honors while setting a school record for most games played (93, with 89 starts). In addition, her 1997 team was inducted into the College of William & Mary's Athletics Hall of Fame.
After college, Kristin began teaching Physical Education in Virginia before returning to Connecticut in August 2002. Over her 20+ year career at Bedford Middle School, she touched countless lives through her work in the classroom and interscholastic and intramural coaching, as well as her years of involvement with the Westport Soccer Association. Her significant contributions to athletics were recognized in 2015 when she was inducted into the Connecticut Girls Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Kristin was a fierce competitor on the field but a kind, compassionate, caring soul off it who treasured her time with family and friends. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend who loved to do anything active. Kristin particularly enjoyed summer days at Longshore Club Park, Compo and Southport beaches, and winter days ice skating and skiing at Mohawk and Killington Mountain Resorts. Being active as a family strengthened their bond.
Predeceased by her father, James H. Ryan, paternal grandparents Edward Sr. and Elizabeth Ryan, and maternal grandparents Joseph and Catherine Conte.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher Beirne; her daughter, Alexandra; her son, Grayson; her mother, Joan Ryan; her siblings, Kim (Bill) Constantino and Kellie (Paul) Ouimette; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th, from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Lesko Funeral Home, located at 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. Her memorial Mass will take place on August 11th at 11 AM at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield CT. All other services will be held privately. For travel directions or to leave an online condolence for Kristin, please visit www.LeskoFuneralHome.com.
In lieu of flowers, Kristin and her family would appreciate helping others via blood and platelet donations to the American Red Cross and/or registry on the NMDP list for donations.
