In Loving Memory of Russon Brown

Donation protected
Hi everyone, when I shared my husband’s cancer battle, I was asked by a few friends if there is a link or a way to help ease our burden, so I decided to create this GoFundMe. Anyone that knows me knows I have a hard time accepting help, much less asking for help. I have always been financially responsible and very independent, but my husband's cancer journey is tough, long, aggressive, expensive and his 52-week disability ended in November. We are currently in the midst of figuring out SS Disability, but with anything government-related, it takes time to complete.

A little background on how we got here. Halloween 2023, Russon was not feeling well and was going on a week of what he thought were Covid booster shot symptoms. That morning, he woke up extremely swollen in his arm and neck, so his coworkers asked him to go to urgent care. Urgent care then asked him to go to the hospital and within 2 hours, we heard the word cancer, a few days later confirmed as Leukemia. I had just found out I was pregnant 3 days before and had shared the news with him on Oct 29th. We immediately both went into fight mode for our baby.

When Russon was first diagnosed, we were told the cancer was caught very early on, and we were given a 6-month outline. Never would we have imagined the reality of what was to come.

Over the past 14 months, I have seen him fight and give it his all, but his Leukemia is aggressive, and he cannot stay in remission longer than a few weeks even with a bone marrow transplant.

Prior to his diagnosis, Russon was very hands on, full of energy and life. He was a passionate nurse who made a difference in his patients lives. It’s heartbreaking to see him experience so many rainy days.

But our daughter, our daughter is truly a blessing, the happiest little girl that truly lights up the room with her big smile. She is my reason for putting my pride aside and requesting/accepting help in any way assistance is offered to both him and I. Even if you just want to buy me a coffee to keep me going, its a lot to be a caregiver, new mom and carry the weight of the house on my back. But above all and most importantly, I please ask that you continue to pray for our family.

And to everyone that has already helped, again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
