Our beloved family member Richard “Rick” J. Curley, Jr., 41, of Jupiter, FL passed away peacefully on September 24, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He passed quickly after being diagnosed, and enthralled with a very intense battle against, renal cancer.
Rick was a graduate of Jupiter High School. After high school, Rick was a member of AmeriCorps, dedicating his time to public service before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in May 2003. Shortly thereafter, Rick suffered a tragic accident that left him unable to serve. However, after years of therapy and hard work, Rick redeveloped the physical capacity to help others and devoted thousands of hours as a volunteer at the Jupiter Medical Center Pavilion.
Rick was a lover of movies, animals, and most of all his family. Rick is survived by his parents, Richard J. and Mary L. Curley of Jupiter, FL, his brother Christopher J. Curley, sister-in-law Loni, and his treasured niece and goddaughter, Ryann, and beloved nephew and godson, Christopher, who currently reside on Staten Island, NY.
The family is humbly raising funds to help with the unexpected costs associated with Rick’s cancer treatments, care and final arrangements.
