Funeral Expenses & Critical Home Repairs for Helain

On January 20, 2026, our community lost a deeply cherished member, Steve Dubell. Steve was married to his beloved wife Helain for 33 years, and they raised a family rooted in faith, compassion, and love.

You may remember this exact GoFundMe from June 2025, when we raised money for Steve’s medical bills. We have now reopened this GoFundMe to support Helain with funeral and home repair expenses following Steve’s passing.

Even while facing his own challenges, Steve faithfully served behind the scenes—counseling, praying, and supporting those in crisis. As Mercy Missionaries, he and Helain devoted their lives to spiritual care in hospitals, homes, and communities, supported only by donations and Steve’s modest disability income. Together Steve and Helain impacted MANY people whose lives will never be the same.

The greatest need now is to cover funeral expenses and major repairs for their home. Helain cannot manage these costs alone, and any financial help—or time and skills to help with repairs—would be a tremendous blessing.
