It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Frank Cognetta's passing on June 14, 2025 after courageously battling cancer for nearly 18 months. A long time Staten Island resident, Frank had been the longtime Secretary Treasury of UFCW Local 1D and was diagnosed with liver, stomach and esophagus cancer in February 2024. At the time of his passing, Frank was just 50 years old. He was an extraordinary man who touched the lives of everyone around him. He was a loving and devoted father who put his family's happiness above all else, always ensuring they felt cherished and supported. As a caring son and brother, Frank's warmth and kindness extended to his entire family, creating bonds that will last forever.
Frank leaves behind his loving wife Danielle and four precious young daughters - Jasmine, age 26 (who is living with cerebral palsy and spinal bifida), Angelina: age 17, Audriana: age 14 and little Luciana: age 7 who were the center of her world, along with family members who are now facing not only the immense grief of losing someone so special, but also the financial burden that comes with funeral costs.
We are reaching out to our community - friends, family, colleagues, and kind hearts everywhere - to help support Frank's family during this incredibly difficult time. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help with:
• Funeral and memorial expenses
• Ongoing support for his four young daughters
• Immediate family needs during this transition
Frank spent his life giving to others. Now, we have the opportunity to give back to the family he loved so deeply.
Whether you can donate $10 or $1000, your generosity will make a meaningful difference in helping his daughters and family navigate the difficult days ahead. If you're unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to us.
The Cognetta family is the sole beneficiary of all funds raised through this campaign. We are committed to ensuring that every dollar donated goes directly to supporting them during this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for keeping Frank's family in your thoughts and prayers.
On behalf of the Cognetta family, we thank you in advance for any support you may be able to provide.
