In Keith's Corner: Support SSG Hale's Cancer Fight
Donation protected
I will never accept defeat. I will never quit. I will never leave a fallen comrade…
Staff Sergeant Stanley “Keith” Hale Jr. is a selfless man. Those that know him will say this is an understatement. Keith is a father of three, mechanical engineer, central Indiana native, 19 year Army veteran with 11 years of active service, and is currently serving in the Army National Guard. He is the quintessential Infantry leader; strong and obstinate with the intestinal fortitude to tackle any challenge. His love and compassion for his soldiers and their welfare is a model for other leaders and makes you proud to wear the uniform. A true servant leader. His selfless service extends beyond the military into his dedication to faith, family, friends, and his work in child ministry.
Keith’s grit and determination have carried him through a three year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is a cancer that starts in the bone marrow and moves into the blood, thus spreading to other parts of the body. This year, Keith was diagnosed with esophageal cancer (esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma) and a brain tumor (glioblastoma multiforme). He has undergone three surgeries on the esophagus and is continuing radiation therapy and chemotherapy. The brain tumor is in a non-surgical location and chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted laser therapy will all be utilized to attempt to destroy the cancer cells. Keith’s unbreakable spirit and character have shone through all the hardship and pain.
All of this has left Keith unable to work. He has exhausted FMLA and is currently on a leave of absence from work. Between non-covered medical expenses and the expenses of everyday necessities, money continues to get tighter and tighter. Keith could use us all in his corner to relieve some of the financial pressure.
Keith has made service to others a priority in his life. Let’s show him some love and our appreciation by donating and sharing this campaign.
