On July 8th, lightning struck our family. Our beloved and undeniably awesome Uncle John was found unresponsive at home. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital near Sandusky, OH where doctors determined that he had suffered a brain bleed. He was immediately airlifted, on life support, to the Cleveland Clinic. After many medical tests, doctors there determined that the brain bleed was not survivable. On July 9, he was removed from life support and died peacefully surrounded by family. He was just 50 years old. 

Our uncle had a magnetic smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was the life of the party. He enjoyed home improvement projects, home brewing, and was on a personal quest to taste 10,000 “distinct” beers. He was funny, kind, and believed in “family first”. He was thoughtful and generous and would not hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. He had a particular soft spot for two of his nieces, both of whom were born premature; Uncle John was one of their biggest cheerleaders when they were later diagnosed with developmental disabilities. 

At this time, we ask for your prayers for his wife Kim, his step-children, her family, and for our families as well. Please also consider donating to help offset the monumental medical expenses, as well as funeral expenses. No amount is too small. If the donation goal is exceeded, the remaining funds will go to the Kati Mac Education Foundation, a floral design business located in West Chester, PA that offers training and meaningful employment opportunities to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
