Impact Media Nonprofit

Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters:

I took a leap of faith when I moved to California in 2011 to pursue my dream of creating a nonprofit organization that would revolutionize race relations using media and entertainment as a platform for social change.

I have worked tirelessly over the past three years conducting research, building relationships, and building the infrastructure of my social enterprise, Impact Enterprises. In 2012, I launched my advisory board with a nationwide webinar hosted in Los Angeles with satellite locations in Chicago, Atlanta, and New York. Dr. C.T. Vivian was the featured presenter.

In August 2013, I launched the social enterprise Impact Enterprises. Impact Media and Entertainment Coaliton is the nonprofit entity, and Impact Consulting & Strategic Solutions is the for profit entity. It has been extremely challenging despite my positive attitude and continuous smile. We are at a very critical point, and we need your help. I have invested my life savings to build Impact Media because I truly believe in the work we're doing. This is also fulfilling my life's purpose and passion.

I would appreciate your investment in me, and my vision. I was told that if no one is laughing at your dreams, then they aren't big enough. My response was, "that's not my issue." Please help me to prove that positive, systemic change is possible.

In March 2014, Impact Media held its inaugural board meeting, and a dew days ago Impact Media received its 501c3 determination letter. I am excited that we are now in a position to diligently solicit significant support for our very critical work. All contributions are tax deductible dated back to April 4, 2013. In July 2014, we hosted a very intimate yet successul fundraiser in Chicago.

Today we are officially launching our first fundraising campaign for Impact Media, and we're starting with my family, friends, and supporters.  

We would truly appreciate your support, so that we can begin to implement the substantive plans and programs that are waiting to be funded. Below is a snapshot of our organization's mission and vision. There are also a few initiatives highlighted below that we would like to implement by the end of August through this year, and a few longer term initiatives.

Our Mission:

•Impact Media and Entertainment Coalition is the national nonprofit 501c3 entity of the social enterprise, Impact Enterprises.

•Impact Media is dedicated to increasing resources and opportunities for African Americans while impacting the world using media and entertainment as a vehicle for social change and building the values of service, positivity, achievement, equality, activism, and advocacy, and faith.

•This is accomplished by mobilizing resources to impact the creation and consumption of positive and inspirational programming featuring African Americans specifically, and all people.

•To support its efforts, Impact Media promotes increased investment in African Americans, raises awareness about their humanity, achievements, and potential while developing them as servant leaders, activists, and citizens with equal rights.

Our goals are to:

•Create a national multidisciplinary movement of thousands of individuals and organizations that use media and entertainment as an instrument for social change, instilling positive values and service to others.

•Mobilize millions of dollars to support the creation and consumption of positive, uplifting, and values based media and entertainment programming. 

•Create a national coalition comprised of hundreds of members from all sectors that support the individual members while advancing a collective agenda to use influence funders and Hollywood/media executives to create and distribute more positive programming featuring all people, especially African Americans.

•To provide media literacy training to the community regarding the importance and impact of consuming positive programming while creating the appetite for service, advocacy, activism, and achieving dreams.

Immediate Projects:

•Launch the "I AM" National PSA & Social Media Campaign, August 22-24, 2014 during our first anniversary weekend.

•Implement the Positive Impact Campaign and the Positive Impact Days of Service, August 22-24, 2014.

•Distribute the Impact Media survey more broadly, so we have the data to make the business case that positive programming featuring African Americans is profitable, August 2014.

•Build our social media presence, August 2014.

Longer-term Projects:

•CEO Sector Leader Strategy Sessions, Fall 2014.

•Building the Impact Media Collaborative Coalition, Fall 2014.

•Launch the Online Media Literacy & History Project, 2015.

•Launch the Impact Media Documentary project, 2015.
