Tring Park School Success!!!

My name is Imogen Mansfield and I am 18 years old. In 2013 I was accepted into Tring Park School for the Performing Arts to specialise in Classical Ballet and I started in September 2013. I have been very lucky to gain a Government Funded Means Tested Scholarship (DaDA) to attend the school and I am hoping to gain further sponsorship to support me along the way in order to realise my dream of becoming a professional dancer.
I have danced since the age of 2 years old and over the years I have achieved a great deal in my goal of becoming a professional dancer. I attended Heathfield Community School where I took my GCSE's in the summer of 2013. I have worked hard at school and I was a music prefect, played in the school orchestra and was very positively involved in school life.
I danced at Trull School of dancing in Taunton, Somerset where I took my final graded exam in July 2013. I obtained 98% in this exam, I am very proud of this grade that I worked so hard to achieve.
I was a Senior Associate with Ballet Cymru the Welsh ballet company and traveled regularly to Wales to dance with the company; I also traveled to Bristol where I had private lessons at The Emily Baker School of Dance for dance competitions that I took part in all across the South West.
I have a part time waitressing job to help my parents financially with the cost of my dance training and I am committed and hard working in my job and my employer is very supportive. I work when I come home during the holidays.
Since 2012 I have been auditioning for a place at a Vocational Dance School and was very lucky to have been offered places at three schools. Unfortunately due to Government cut backs in putting funding into the arts, scholarship places at these schools are very limited and usually go to young dancers from all over the world who have already been in vocational schools since a young age and so are further trained and so more cost effective for the schools to take on.
It is such an achievement for someone of my age to apply and get a scholarship and so I am delighted that I have been offered this scholarship and now, in order to fund my dream and to be able to be part of those that want to bring the Arts back to Somerset, I am hoping to achieve enough further sponsorship locally to help fund my accommodation, travel, pointe shoes and much more for my time at Tring Park School which is the best Performing Arts Schools in the country. Pointe shoes cost approximately £50.00 per pair, I will need a new pair every 3-4 weeks during my training at Tring!
The course is three years long and at the end of the three years I will have gained a National Diploma in Professional Dance Training. I will be the only young person from Taunton to have ever achieved this and I am so very proud.
I hope to become a professional dancer with a prestigious company within the dance industry as Tring Park has an excellent record of student success in gaining worthwhile and meaningful careers. I also hope to bring my training back to Taunton in the future to teach and inspire young people.
If you feel that you can sponsor me, no amount is too small, I would be very grateful and would be happy to take part in any media advertising and performing that you felt was appropriate.
Thank you for reading this and I hope you can support me!
