Many of you know that I have been a huge supporter of Greyhound rescue for many years. However, a few years ago I adopted a dog from Dubai who came into our local Greyhound rescue group. He was a Saluki found on the streets in Abu Dhabi. Since then, I have adopted a 2nd dog from the UAE, also found on the streets. From these rescues dear friendships have formed and I am headed to Dubai once again to bring more dogs here where they can be adopted and given their second chance. Dubai and its surrounding areas are overrun with stray dogs. The Muslim culture is unaccepting of dogs in the home. Once they are done being used for racing, they are often left in the streets to fend for themselves. With your help, I will be able to give these sweet Saluki's or Greyhounds an opportunity to live in a home. Unfortunately, the fare to fly these dogs has raised and is creating a hardship for the rescue groups to re-home these dogs. Please help me to fund the travel expenses and see that these deserving dogs get that second chance. Any funds received over and above the amount necessary to fly the dogs will be split with the rescue groups on either end of this journey. I appreciate your consideration. While we can't fix the wrongs in the world, together we can make a difference.
