In January 2014, I attended the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF), run at the Australian National University in Canberra. I was generously sponsored by the Murwillumbah Rotary Club to attend the forum, and without their help, it would not have been possible. The NYSF was an invigorating program, which solidified my passion and interest in science.
The ISH is a partner organisation with the NYSF and was established in 1996 to promote up-and-coming scientists and international exchange. From the ~450 students who attended the NYSF, I was selected as one of three ambassadors to represent Australia at this prestigious program over July and August.
This opportunity will offer me a chance to develop a variety of research and practical skills, as well as provide insights into the world of research and to establish a professional network with the 26 other ISH participants from countries including Germany, England, Japan, France, Israel, Ukraine and the United States.
Just like any international trip, it does not come cheap. The program will cost $10,500, covering airfares, accommodation, the program itself as well as administration fees and other expenses. My parents - both local council workers - are not in the position to pay for the trip themselves, that is why I need your support to help raise the funds needed to attend the trip.
Any donation - large or small - is immensely appreciated, and to show this, I have a variety of rewards and benefits for individuals and businesses. Thank you to everyone involved, especially my parents and school for their on-going support.
