Noah's Fight
Donation protected
My name is Megan, I am a Vet Tech and a big animal advocate in the rescue world for the past 7 years. On my volunteer time I run a transport program through Second Chance Pet Adoptions of NC that saves close to 400 animals a year from overcrowded shelters. Normally I am fundraising for our rescue animals who need more help then the rescue can give. But now I'm asking for help for my own pup, my heart and soul Noah.
I've had Noah since he was an itty bitty little baby. He is now 9yrs old. If you've ever met Noah you know he is the sweetest, most gentle soul. He gives me hugs when I get home from work every day and waits ouside of my bedroom door before I leave every morning. Noah is always my go to dog to dog test new or potential foster dogs. He has helped me save countless dogs by being my tester and meeting them to prove they are dog friendly. He listens well and wants nothing more than to be beside me when I am home. At 9 yrs old I know he still has a few years left in him to spend with me.
Noah has been diagnosed with a bladder tumor that is blocking his left kidney. We found this out though doing annual labwork with a urinalysis. Discovering he had blood in his urine, we eliminated UTI, and bladder stones by doing xrays and a urine culture. On Thursday July 7th I took Noah to Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital for an ultrasound. It reveled a large lobular mass on the left side of his bladder. The silent mass gave no indication it was there until now. It has grown to block the tube (ureter) that carries urine from his left kidney into his bladder. This kidney will eventually become painful to the point we may not be able to manage his pain any longer.
The good news is there is no indication that the cancerous mass has spead anywhere else. His liver, lymphnodes, pancreas, prostate, gall bladder, spleen, and gastrointestinal tract are all normal and healthy.
With this being said we have been given some costly options to possibly remove the mass and/or the bad kidney if it cannot function properly anymore. This will reduce the chances of Noah becoming unbearably painful and keep his qualityof life good. We have also been given some treatment options of radiation and chemotherapy to give him a longer and more comfortable time here with us.
All of our options are costly and out of my reach without help. I've never had to ask for money for my own pup before, but I am begging for help to save my sweet boy. He is currently peeing bloodclots and I am managing his pain with oral medications, but we need to move fast on surgery and treatment options to save him. My heart hurts. I hate asking for help but I have to try for my boy. Please help my Noah.
