Help a family rebuild their lives after hurricane Helene
Donation protected
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helena, many families are left reeling, but few stories resonate as deeply as that of Zach and Tara. This resilient couple has been indefinitely displaced from their home, facing the daunting challenge of rebuilding their lives from scratch. Zack is a popular handyman in town, and he takes care of his wife Tara who is physically disabled. The hurricane destroyed his income, wrecked his work truck, making it impossible for him to support his family. The bills keep coming and they are sinking deeper each day. He has customers that want to give him work, but he needs transportation to get there with his tools and to get his wife Tara to the doctor.. We invite you to join us in supporting them during this incredibly difficult time
Our Story:
Zach and Tara are more than just neighbors; they are a loving couple dedicated to their community and each other. Their lives were turned upside down when Hurricane Helena swept through, leaving their home damaged and unlivable. With the storm’s destruction, they lost not only their home but also essential tools, and vehicles, that are crucial for their jobs and daily life.
What They Need:
To help Zach and Tara get back on their feet, we are raising funds for:
Replacement of Essential Tools: Help them replace the tools they rely on for their work, enabling them to regain financial stability.
Bill Support: Provide assistance with ongoing bills, including titling, registering and ensuring both the vehicle in Zach was finally able to buy with donations, and the camper that has been generally delivered and donated to them by an organization in the area, funds to get there elderly beloved dog Tessa to the vet, and funds to either get gravel put down on the property they're staying on or funds to locate a
A suitable place to have the camper moved to, or they can start to rebuild in a more permanent setting, covering the deposit, the campers move, and rent, also covering necessary items to live in a camper full-time including a heated hose, skirting, a new battery as the battery on the camper is dried up, and other essentials, and funds for covering medical care for Tara that the insurance will not cover, such a certain telehealth appointments that are vital for her due to not having transportation, and being disabled, and not having the money for getting a vehicle on the road.
Unfortunately, the places they were offered to stay was a summer property and not maintained for winter use at all, and therefore turned into nothing but a slick ice sheet when the mud froze. Tara had attempted to drive down the long steep driveway to go get supplies a couple weeks ago and unfortunately the truck lost control, went up one side of the embankment and hit a rock, knocked her driver's door open, threw her out, then when she hit the ground her scarf caught the back tire and she was dragged for several feet before the truck hit a tree and stopped. She was lucky to escape more serious injury but is suffering from some hip injuries from hitting the ground, severe road rash on her left side from being dragged, a gash on her head from something that got thrown out of the truck after she did, and a very nasty large bruise on her hip and thigh. So she's even more unable to help then she usually is, she's still in a lot of pain and struggles to move.
Providing the funds for gravel delivery and spreading will prevent this from happening again, as well as allow Zach to get in and out of the property to get to jobs without getting stuck most of the time, which has already happens repeatedly. He cannot afford to have a tow truck come pull him out every time of course, and has missed out on work already due to being stuck. They obviously cannot wait to spring for everything to fall and then dry up before he starts getting back to work, he's already missed so much that they are incredibly far behind. In lieu of gravel, the funds for them to get their camper removed to a proper trailer rental spot that they can live on indefinitely, and the funds for the deposit, the first month's rent, and again, essential items needed to live in a camper full time in especially in a winter setting.
Inspiration and Hope:
In times of crisis, the strength of community shines through. Let’s come together to lift Zach and Tara up during this challenging chapter. Your kindness will remind them that they are not alone and that hope and resilience can triumph over adversity. My name's Tabitha, I'm from tennessee, and I run an animal rescue. Tara once helped me, she didn't even know me then, and she helped me freely and without expectation of anything in return. I just want to return the favor for my friend and her husband.. They won't ask for themselves, so I'm doing it for them.
Donate Today:
Please consider making a donation and sharing this campaign with others. Together, we can help Zach and Tara find their footing and reclaim their future. It doesn't take much, if 500 people were to skip the Starbucks one day and instead send that $10 here, it would make all the difference in the world in their lives. Please consider helping them get back to helping themselves permanently. Thank you for your compassion and support.
