My name is Hannah Wright. I am raising money for my brother to be able to complete a double organ transplant. His kidneys are only functioning at 18%. This surgery will consist of a kidney and pancreas transplant. As you may all know my brother, Hunter Wright, he is 28 years old with a wife and two children. He found out devastating news that his kidneys were failing and he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. At this time Hunter is in stage 4 of kidney disease. We knew nothing about it before stage 4. Sometimes I sit to myself and think why we were informed in the 4th stage and not the 1st stage. Over the last year of him knowing and going to the doctor, the function of his kidneys has lowered from 30% to 18%. The treatment for him is going to have to be a kidney and pancreas transplant. They want to do both to eliminate the diabetes he’s had since he was 11. Doing this will help keep his new kidney stay strong as well as eliminating the sides effects that diabetes causes. This transplant is an urgent and life changing surgery. They recommend both surgeries at once, but if his kidneys continue getting worse fast there is the option of a kidney transplant and then a pancreas after kidney transplant. My brother and I have the same blood type, so I am having tests ran to see if I can be a donor for his kidney as well as our sister Jamie. We both know the risks with the surgery, but it is something we are willing to do. The recovery for him will be approximately 2-3 months which will also keep him out of work. He is also being required to stay within 45 miles of the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville,FL for 30 days after transplant to be able to be monitored for any problems. This type of life changing event will definitely put a financial burden on him and family. He is basically all I have left so I want him to be able to spend many more years with me, his children, his wife, and his family. We cannot go any further with anything else until we can raise the funds. Any kind of donations that I receive for this will go directly to the transplant and recovery for my brother. Anything will be appreciated and we will be very grateful to anyone that is willing to help, even if it is only your prayers. I hope we can raise this money to save my brothers life because it would mean the world to both of us, along with his children, wife, and the rest of our family. This is a very urgent situation because of the time frame that we have and the need for the transplant. If we don't have something done soon it could result in more than what is already happening as well as dialysis. So anyone that can help it will be greatly appreciated. Hunter is a great brother and an amazing father who deserves more time with his family. Not to mention all the friends that he has and has had growing up, are amazing.
