Dear family, friends and anybody else viewing this campaign,
As you may have heard, my younger brother Hunter Rizza (13) was in an atv accident a little over a week or two ago. The initial diagnosis was an epidural hematoma of the brain. He has had to go through three surgeries so far since his admittance to the hospital. Two minor, one pretty major. The two minor consist of drains being inserted into his head to allow draining of excessive spinal fluid which would increase the pressure inside his head if not removed. The major surgery, however, consisted of the neurosurgeon removing two hand-sized sections of his skull (on both sides of his head) to allow the brain to safely swell on it's own without causing anymore bruising.
Since the surgeries, and before, he has been in and out of an induced coma and heavy sedation. He was found with onset pneumonia which did turn into a slightly big case of pneumonia a week and a half in. From that and other stresses in his body his blood pressures have been higher than they should be. They did try to remove him off most of the sedation and the respirator, and while he was able to squeeze hands, shake his head yes and no and blink his eyes, his breathing on his own remained too shallow so they had to put him back on the respirator and back into sedation.
The money I am trying to raise will go towards helping my parents out with the medical expenses. My mom has not been able to go to work since he's been in the hospital for she's been at his side the entire time.
I'm setting up this campaign because I feel appreciative for all my parents do for us and I'd like to help them as well. Also because Hunter is my younger brother and this accident hit us all very hard. It's been a rough journey so far and I know there will be more bumps in the road and a long time of recovery, but I believe that in the end all will be well for Hunter.
Even a simple dollar helps out somewhere and if we could get multiple people to donate just a dollar it would mean the world to my family and I, and I'm sure to Hunter once he wakes up and is on his recovery road. Thank you for taking the time to read this and even if you can't donate, a share to any sort of social media website or a print and post would be the most helpful thing you could do for us. Thank you so so much, we're all incredibly appreciative of all the help we've already received and for what I'm hoping to receive as the outcome of this campaign.
Thank you! <3
