- Bv. beddengoed, keukenuitrusting, : €2000
Apparatuur:
- Reddingsmiddelen: €4000
- AIS Transponder: €800
- Chartplotter: €1000
- Computerapparatuur voor navigatie: €500
Totaal: €22000
Eigen bijdrage: €5000 de komende 5 maanden

The sailing boat our father (Jos, 67yrs) lived on, has sunk to our great sadness after an accident in the night of 11 to 12 December 2020. This crowdfunding was started to support Jos in the costs of purchasing a used sailboat that he can live on.
Jos has lived on his sailing boat 'Skidbladnir' for the past 15 years. He has not known another house in all this time. For a long time he had planned to go on a world trip with this boat. For years he had to live on an income below the social security standard and had to rebuild things in- and around the boat to prepare it for the trip. In the spring of 2020, Jos had completely prepared the Skidbladnir and finally reached the state pension age, which meant he could embark on his travel. Everything went well until he could not sail further than the south of France at the end of the summer, due to the corona virus. After much deliberation, he decided to sail back to the Netherlands. On the way back the boat then crashed and sank, and Jos saw his house disappear.
Fortunately Jos has returned safely to the Netherlands in the meantime. He would really like to live on a sailing boat again, after all these years that has become a second nature to him. However, due to the financial situation he finds himself in, it is not just possible for him to buy a new boat. He was able to arrange a place to sleep with a friend, but this is a temporary solution.
He has no savings, but because he now receives AOW (National Old Age Pensions Act) he can also contribute to buying a boat. Because he is used to life on a boat, this is the best and most feasible solution for him, also financially.
What is the plan now?
In order to give him a new start, we are looking with him for a boat to live on in the first place and hopefully to be able to continue his world trip again. Jos has a lot of experience in refurbishing sailing boats and we are therefore looking for a (structurally good) second-hand sailing boat. The goal is to have found a boat that is at least solid enough to work with within about 5 months.
What will it cost approximately?
A secondhand sailboat:
€ 7500 - € 15000 depending on equipment and the condition of the boat
Material to make the boat habitable:
- Eg. bed linen, kitchen equipment,: € 2000
Equipment:
- Life-saving equipment: € 4000
- AIS Transponder: € 800
- Chartplotter: € 1000
- Computer equipment for navigation: € 500
Total: € 22,000
Personal contribution: € 5000 for the next 5 months
