Beloved Husband’s Celebration of Life
Donation protected
NEW:
I first began this GoFundMe in order to help my Husband fight for his life. Unfortunately, my Husband passed and joined the stars on July 30th, 2025. I am keeping the GoFundMe active in order to have a Celebration of Life for him as well as help fund any medical bills that come through that medical insurance does not cover.
He is dearly missed. He took a large part of me with him. And a large part of him is still with me.
ORIGINAL:
My husband is currently in the CVICU fighting for his life.
He has blood clots throughout his entire body but the main concern are the ones in his lungs as it is restricting his ability to breathe as well as placing extra pressure against his heart.
He is on an EMCO machine, dialysis, & a ventilator. He also currently has a chest tube, two separate ART lines, a central line, & a catheter directing clot busting medication. They have already had to drain fluid from around his heart and fix one of his lungs that had collapsed. We are in MN right now for a surgery that we are trying to get him stable enough for which will hopefully save his life.
We are almost 8 hours from home as we live in SE Wisconsin. I am running out of money at this point. I am staying at a hotel to be near him as he cannot speak for himself and so I need to be able to sign consent forms (I have Medical Power of Attorney) and be near him. We have been married for 18 years and the longest we have ever been apart has been a matter of weeks at a time. We are two halves that cannot stand to be apart for long. He is the love of my life. And it is torturous to think that I may have to go back home soon and leave him here just so I can go back to work so that we still have a home to go back to.
I am terrified that I may never see him again if I have to go back home. He has been to three different hospitals in a matter of 4 days in order to get him to where he needs to be. The surgery that he needs is only performed by a handful of surgeons in the entire country and it is made even more complicated by the fact that he is on an EMCO machine.
He is also at risk of needing his hands and feet amputated eventually due to the lack of circulation going to them, in part due to an allergic reaction to a blood pressure medication that he was given as his blood pressure has been incredibly unstable. We had NO idea he had this allergy. He’s never been allergic to ANY medication before in his life. He is only 50 years old. He is my reason for being.
Any help that you are kind enough to provide will go towards his care, our bills, his medical bills, and any accommodations he needs in the future as the medical team has made it perfectly clear that once he is stable and post-op he has an extremely long and difficult road ahead of him. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to help, I completely understand. But if you are unable to donate I would appreciate any good energy you can send his way. Thank you for reading this far and any help you can provide.
