Hello! my name is Aaron Gonzalez.
I’m an aspiring student filmmaker, working as both a director and screenwriter. Over the past few years, I’ve created several short films and had the privilege of collaborating with incredibly talented cast and crew members. Every project has been a labor of love, self-funded and driven by passion.
But as each film grows in ambition, so do the challenges especially as a student with limited resources. That’s why I’m turning to you.
My next project is a narrative horror short film titled “I Wish This Was Real.”
The story follows James Altoy, a man haunted by vivid, horrifying dreams. The dreams feel disturbingly real. So real, in fact, that James turns himself in to his local police station. Enter FBI Detective Luke Hobson, who must interrogate him peeling back layers of truth, guilt, and something far more terrifying.
This film is our most ambitious yet. From the story and cinematography to the production design and sound, we’re aiming to elevate every aspect. But to bring this vision to life, we need your help.
Any donation big or small would mean the world to us. Your support helps us cover equipment, locations, costumes, crew, festival submissions, and all the little things that make a film come to life.
As a thank you, every donor will be credited in the final film.
We plan to begin production in the fall of 2025, and your contribution can directly make that possible. We will be providing updates and posting marketing material and behind-the-scenes for our project on our Instagram: @iwishthiswasreal.film
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Whether you donate, share the campaign, or simply spread the word, you’re helping make dreams a reality.
Stay blessed,
Aaron Gonzalez
