Urgent help is needed as temperatures drop at night into the low 40s. Motel 6 is about $100 on weeknights for ADA room. I am high risk for complications if catch the flu, Covid or a cold. My injured feet cannot get cold. I need warmer shoes or winter boots. Meals help is needed for restaurant meals indoors. Other needs include warm clothes, down sleeping bag, CVS, and vision care.

Recent donations have helped with meals and several Motel 6 stays including in rainstorms, suitcase, bus pass, and things I needed.

Help is needed to manage this fundraiser and team fundraisers are needed. Help is needed to find homestays, or a rent-trade.

Many efforts to secure artist emergency grants have failed.

Help is needed to secure rental funds for 3 months, plus deposits, in order to secure a place. without this amount of money all at once, I will continue to need hotels, at a high cost. Roommates are a challenge with health challenges, so a private live in and writer space is needed.

HELP WRITER-MUSICIAN MEDICAL, VISION, HOUSING EMERGENCY

Summary June 24, 2025

There are continued problems with the County Housing Office, and there has been 8 months of delays in my appeal. No low-income lawyers would take my case. This has interfered with my getting housed.

Strains, or hernia have been incurred since several problem suitcases were used, which did not go straight, requiring constant maneuvering. This could be bad news.

My badly injured feet need special shoes and special care. I need to walk and carry less. My IHSS county assistant was denied due to being homeless, due to their rules. I have chronic health problems, severe light sensitivity, migraines, and exhaustion, and am high risk for COVID or Flu risks. I still do not have glasses, and need several special pairs.

Meals and small bottled water are quite expensive. Trying to buy and carry food has not worked. Hot restaurant meals indoors are needed.

A car donation is needed, no stick shift.

A homestay, or simple trade for rental is needed. A cool coastal area including Goleta, Santa Barbara, to Carpinteria would be ideal.

The bus takes hours a day, due to 10-minute driver breaks scheduled during the route, and 20 minutes transfer layover, plus needing to arrive to bus stops early. This is becoming too difficult due to the sun, noise, and car exhaust at transfer, and due to taking too long. I need glasses, and a car. Or, to hire a driver, who would also help with meals, storage, and getting to the beach.

I am a poet/writer, and am printing out my work to review a years' long draft. I applied to a national writer emergency grant, which was denied for the second time.

I am having trouble with the sun or heat, which does not have to be very hot, which cause me migraines.

Support this fundraiser for Amy, well known writer, spiritual poet, music teacher, photographer, and painter.

Health challenged, seriously injury to both feet and other injuries, needing vision care and glasses, cannot drive, no car, cannot be in shelters, and homeless in the park, due to the repeated failure of a government housing assistance program, and regional housing shortage and rental crisis.

Due to health issues, cannot be in shelters, and per M.D.

High risk for frequently getting seriously ill with flus or C.O.V.I.D., needs immediate solutions for housing or hotel. She cannot remain homeless with her health challenges. There is often rain or cold gusty winds. These are life threatening concerns.

The current amount raised is $18,385 of the goal of $60,000. This fundraiser started years ago, and funds are spent upon receiving them. The high cost of living, hotels and meals here mean the funds are quickly spent. Recent donations have been used for hotels in cold or rainy, gusty weather, hotels when sick, meals, pain creams, supplies.

Cost of Motel 6 is $100/weeknight and about $150/weekend night. As we go into spring and summer, rates will increase. Rates fluctuate based on availability, and might be higher at the last minute. Meals range from $15- $30. Hot restaurant food, with soups are needed, eaten indoors. Meal plan is per M.D. Carrying food around has not worked. Taking the bus is exhausting and time consuming. Bottled water is needed.

Help is needed to relocate from a dangerous and high risk fire area. We have had numerous giant forest fires, dry canyons, and often have gusty winds., 20 m.p.h. are common, and up to 60 m.p.h. These have uprooted trees in the past. This is a disaster waiting to happen. There are few, if any exit routes when the only highway becomes full. Without a car, how can I evacuate? I also cannot be in Red Cross shelters.

A car would also greatly help in finding a rental, or place to stay, opening up many neighborhoods to live in, where the bus routes where canceled, or places where the walk is too steep. Glasses are needed before driving.
