"HOT DOGS" for K9 POLICE DOGS
Donation protected
I am Braden Anderson. I am a 7th grader and "Hot Dogs" is my community service project. This is a fundraising project to buy heat alarms for police k-9 vehicles. Many dogs die every year from heat stroke right in their police cruiser. This happens when officers are away from their vehicle distracted by their other duties. When this happens the officers depend on the vehicles air conditioner to keep their K-9 partner safe. Too many times though, engines or air conditioners fail. The dogs die from heat stroke. A heat alarm would alert the officer when the temperature is unsafe and can even roll down the windows. Many departments cannot afford this critical protection for our four legged heros. Each heat alarm cost $800.00 My goal is to raise enough for three ($2400.)
For some we can make all the difference.
This means alot to me because my dad was the K-9 Commander for the State of Maryland DOC. He had a breeding program and I would always go and help train the puppies. I would also watch the patrol dogs train. I have always loved the K-9's.
Just this year 2 K-9's died of heatstroke right here in Maryland. I will be so grateful for any help you can give me.
Sincerely, Braden Anderson
