- When we feel helpless, let down and heartbroken, then we must do something. When I see my family, my friends, my neighbors, all the people and the people we love, we do something so that we do not get used to the scene, the scene of hunger, despair and frustration in the shadow of famine and the war of extermination in Gaza. When efforts come together, we can do something great from something simple,
- Childhood friend Fadi Ghabayen, my brother Ismail Abu Mahadi and their friends volunteered to start a soup kitchen in Deir al-Balah, to provide hot meals to friends and neighbors. They bought five large pots, bought wood for the fire, bought lentils, cooking oil, rice and other cooking supplies, and after a few hours, they were able to create a meal that brought smiles to the faces of dozens of hungry families and children. As word spread of the food table, more neighbors arrived the next day. Fadi and Ismail got to work, venturing out to get the ingredients for a fresh meal. They secured onions, tomato paste, beans and rice and created a new dish that was both delicious and nutritious. We were able to put a smile on the faces of children and families again thanks to personal efforts, simple things, personal donations, and some charitable friends residing in Belgium. However, with limited resources, we faced financial difficulties in sending them money in order to continue putting a smile on the faces of children and families in this tragedy. They suggested that I create a donation link, which might be a good opportunity to continue this heroic work and be an opportunity for everyone who loves and can do good and put a smile on their faces.
Your help and efforts can help us provide food to an area with little aid, where children are facing the harsh realities of starvation and cold. This personal initiative, coordinated with friends and my brother in central Gaza, Deir al-Balah, ensures transparency. Your contribution, starting at $5, can provide a hot meal to desperate families in difficult circumstances, deliberately cut off from the rest of the world.
Your $5, $10, or $20 contribution will go a long way with this initiative. We also need you to pray for their safety as they do this heroic and risky work. We are all hopeful with you and with your help we can!!!
- The funds from the GoFundMe will be transferred to this crew in Gaza to ensure they can continue to do this heroic work.
For transparency, we will document and photograph any work we do, whether it is a meal or winter aid, and update it on this link. With your help and efforts, we can do more and put a smile on the faces of children and families. Best regards.
