Hot Diggity Dog donations
Hello FB peoples
so as you might have seen. I recently started volunteering at the AZ humane society. Yesterday was my first day and it was AMAZZZING.
There are a few reasons I wanted to start volunteering. One main reason is because I realized one of my main personal values is working in an area that I have a passion for. A huge passion of mine are animals as many of you know. I do my best to rescue and feed and help animals around me in ANY way I can. If it means leaving bowls of tuna and water outside for the stray kitties than so be it. Taking strays in, bathing, feeding and finding them homes, I’v done it. Keeping strays for myself because of the attachment? Been there. I wanted to do more, hence getting involved with the shelters here. In the near future I’ll be starting a business of my own focusing on animals and I felt this is a great way to further my education and help as many animals as possible while doing it.
After spending a day at the shelter, I learned the animals only eat once a day. Theyhave edible enrichments such as frozen ice cubes with vegetables and peanut butter sandwiches (dog bones with peanut butter in between. So stinking cute) but the reality is, these shelters don’t have much. I was shocked to also learn tht these animals spend an average of 10 days at the shelter before most end up getting adopted and others moving to different shelters to increase the possibilities of them being seen. When I walked into the office yesterday I was greeted by HANK. A 13 year old lab who had been there a while. With animals with longer stays they do things like them linger in and out of the office and 2 hrs later he was gone due to being adopted. ☺️❤️ I was prepared to be hurt after seeing the babies all caged up. I didn’t feel tht way 1 bit. They honestly and truly take care of these animals in a way that I had no clue about. Trainings and play times and a little puppy pit with plastic balls
My point is, there are people going hard for these animals and I HAVE to be one. I’m starting a go fund me along with a “DIGGITY DOG DRIVE with a list of things the shelters are always in high demand for. I’m going to be making a separate post with things you might have around your house that you can donate to help the animals as well. I’m willing to drive however far I need to collect these items for the babies. Anything and everything makes a huge difference and will put to good use!
if you’d like to reach out to me for any reason regarding giving in any way, please feel free to do so. I’d really appreciate it!
plus, it’ll help me look good since I plan on climbing the ladder at the shelter as quickly as possible.
love you all.
help me, help the furry babies!
(in case you didn’t know, the shelter also has critters up for adoption. Bunnies, gineau pigs etc)
looking forward to doing so much more for Arizona’s animals ❤️❤️❤️
