Our Family Coffee Roastery Burned Down — But Not Our Hope

What started two generations ago as a small dream—just a father, a hand-me-down roaster, and a deep love for good coffee—grew into a family-run roastery that’s proudly served our community for decades. Every bag of coffee, every roast, every early morning grind was more than a job—it was our story, our heritage, our way of connecting with people.

For the past twenty years, we’ve run our business right here in Kent. It’s more than where we work—it’s home. We’ve built strong relationships with local suppliers, loyal customers, and a community that has supported us every step of the way. We feel deeply connected to this place and the people who make it special.

But on April 25th, 2025, that story was suddenly interrupted. A devastating fire tore through our beloved roastery, reducing it to ashes. Equipment, inventory, records—everything gone in a matter of hours.

We are heartbroken—but we are not broken.

We’ve spent years pouring our hearts—and every ounce of energy—into this business. Immediately following the fire, we used the last of our company reserves to purchase new green coffee stock, which is already on the way. We did this because we believe in our future. And we still do.

Right now, we’re working with our insurer, but it’s a complex, time-consuming process that may take months to resolve. Every extra day it takes us to get operational again means a greater risk that our customers—many of them small businesses themselves—will be forced to turn to alternative suppliers to keep their own doors open.

We’re also thinking about our team—especially our two apprentices and full time employee. They’re more than employees; they’re like family. Young, hardworking, and full of promise, they’ve grown with us. We’re doing everything we can to protect their jobs and futures.
