“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” Matthew 5:5. I can humbly say that God's hands have truly been blessing my efforts to bring HOPE to the citizens of Liberia. Who would have thought that a four year old boy; alone and scared in a refugee camp in West Africa Liberia, would grow up with a calling on his life to relive the very same thing he did 27 years ago, but this time on the other side of the spectrum? I never thought that would be me, but God did.
God's word says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23: 7. God thought it worthy enough to call me to make a difference in the lives of people in Liberia and for that I am forever grateful.
However, I alone cannot make a difference. I need your help on this journey. I was recently afforded the opportunity to visit Liberia for 3 months (Dec 1, 2015-Feb 28, 2016). While on my mission trip, I visited several villages in need of assistance. There were many elderly and disabled individuals lacking the necessary provisions to continue with day-to-day activities. As a result, while there, some of the future requests were for crutches, wheelchairs, walkers and white canes for the blind. My team and I noticed there were many homes and schools without accessible ramps for the disabled. Consequently, unless they can find someone to carry them into or out of an entrance with elevation, their mobility is often limited.
In addition, if attending school at all, many students do not have chairs to sit on while receiving an education. If not sitting on batteries or crates, students are sitting on the floor. Plastic bags are used as book bags. Their laps are utilized as desks.
In order to make a difference, Hope-for-Liberia needs your financial assistance! Our goal is to ship a 40 foot cargo container full of these items to bless Liberian families during the holiday season. To ensure that all donated items make it without a hitch, I will personally accompany as many shipments as possible to hand deliver all supplies. Monetary donations will go directly to cover projects such as: water pumps, ramps, crutches, walkers, white canes, desks, chairs, shipment and travel costs.
