Hope and Healing for Sandra: A Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Hello, I'm Sandra’s sister, Sharon, reaching out with a heart full of hope on behalf of Sandra who has been courageously battling pancreatic cancer. Sandra's journey began unexpectedly when what was thought to be kidney stones turned out to be a life-changing diagnosis: a large mass on her pancreas, identified through a CT scan. This moment marked the beginning of her fight against the second most life-threatening cancer.

Despite the odds, Sandra's spirit remains unbreakable. She embarked on a determined quest for treatment, leading her to a renowned surgeon at UCSF San Francisco who agreed to perform the complex surgery necessary to remove the tumor. Therefore, in February 2019, Sandra underwent a 6.5-hour surgery, where the doctor successfully removed the tumor, along with her spleen and affected lymph nodes. Although the post-surgery path was fought with challenges, including severe nausea and the need for ongoing infusions, Sandra's resilience shone through.

Over the years, Sandra has faced her condition with incredible strength, undergoing annual scans and continuing her fight with grace. However, recent developments have brought new hurdles. In late December 2023, a biopsy revealed that her pancreatic cancer had metastasized to her liver. Further tests in January 2024 confirmed additional tumors on her gallbladder and liver, leading to another scheduled surgery on

February 26, 2024.

Through all this, Sandra's spirit of hope has never wavered. Yet, the financial burden of ongoing medical treatment, travel for care, and related expenses have become a significant challenge. This GoFundMe campaign aims to alleviate some of the financial pressures so Sandra can focus on her health and healing journey.

Any contribution will be invaluable to assist with those expenses not fully covered by medical insurance, travel expenses and necessities to ensure Sandra can access the best care possible, alleviating the stress of financial hardship.
