Honoring the life of Emma D’Amore

Hello Friends and Family. My name is Carlo Castagnetto and I have created this GoFundMe account to help my cousins and our family raise support to help cover end of life costs for our beloved Tia Emma D’Amore. I cannot articulate enough what she meant to us. Below are beautiful words from her son Carlo D’Amore.

On April 21st 2021,

Around 4:00am

Emma, Angelica, Castagnetto, Pinasco, D’Amore passed into eternal life.

She was surrounded by her four children. Luigi, Carlo, Maria (Lupetta) and Tonino. Alongside of them was her sister and many other family, friends, and loved ones, yes even Luna the dog who loved her dearly.

Her passing was peaceful, there was no sudden jump into the unknown, no last perceptible gasp, it was rather a slow and effortless breath. She waited until it was her and my three siblings alone with La Virgen de Guadalupe watching over her from the picture frame above her bead, draped in the Christmas lights I’d put up for some ambiance.

In my mind I could see her on a long walk towards the other side. She was greeted by loved ones who had already passed. My father Tonino, her mother my Nona Yolanda, her father, Carlos and her siblings Puqui and Carlos. She is no longer the woman in the old, little and broken  body with the failing kidneys and rapidly failing eyes. No, now she is pure essence, she is once again the emanating force that is free, open, and almighty. She went out the way she lived her life, surrounded by loved ones, laughing and loving. She did it her way!
