Honoring Tony John, aka “Big T”

Tony was born on October 20, 1964, in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia, West Indies. He was the beloved son of Mary John and the late Elfred John, and the second of five children. From a young age, Tony’s joyful spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

For more than three decades, Tony served his community with dedication at the West Roxbury Courthouse. Beyond his professional life, he was a vibrant presence in Boston’s social scene—well-loved for his charisma, quick wit, and generous soul. His loyalty and warmth earned him countless friendships and a reputation as someone who always had your back.

Set up by Big Dave Smith, Shahrohk Reza, Miller Thomas, Billy Gateman, Marcelino Amero, Kevin Montgomery, Franco Pisano, and Ace Gershfield — friends and coworkers of Tony, affectionately known as "Big T." Tony served as the head of security at Pasha Entertainment in Boston’s Theater District for over 15 years, and he was not just a colleague, but a brother to us all.

With the full support and blessing of Tony’s family—specifically his mother, Mary John, and his brother, Andre John—we’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of his funeral services. This fundraiser is a way for all who knew and loved Tony to come together and honor his life, his legacy, and the impact he had on so many.
