My father, Thurman Henry Ellis Jr. (11/03/1949–9/22/2025), was a man of deep faith, music, and love for his family. He gave his life working hard, raising us with values, and always putting others before himself.
Dad’s final wish was simple but sacred: no cremation — only a proper burial, in line with his Pentecostal faith. Thanks to the generosity of a kind friend, we already have a burial plot at Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, TX. But the funeral home requires $6,000 upfront for the casket, service, and burial. They will not allow a payment plan.
As his daughter, I am determined to honor his last request. Right now, I am grieving, overwhelmed, and the only one left to carry this responsibility. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his burial costs — nothing else.
✨ How you can help:
• Donate any amount, even $5 or $10 — every gift brings us closer.
• Share this fundraiser with churches, family, and friends who may want to help.
• Keep us in your prayers as I work to give my dad the dignity he deserves.
Please help me fulfill his final wish and lay him to rest with the love and honor he earned in life.
With gratitude,
Rebecca Richards (his daughter)
