The Wesleyan Holiness Church Basseterre stands as a beacon of
faith, hope and love in St. Kitts and Nevis. We are a place of prayer,
peace and joy to all who join us.
Approximately 3:00 am on Monday, 22 August 2023, the Wades
Garden home of our dearly beloved sister, Devorita Weekes which,
she shared with her son, Hertley Weekes became engulfed in
flames. The fire was eventually extinguished by the Fire and
Rescue Services and the charred remains of 91 year old, Devorita
Weekes was found in the living room. She was pronounced dead by
the District Medical Doctor.
Sis Weekes has been a faithful member of the Wesleyan Holiness
Church her entire life, and at the time of her death was a shut-in
member due to illness. Hertley who is an active member of our
Church, currently serving as an Usher and Cash Teller survived the
fire but lost all of his earthly possessions and identifications. Hertley
is currently unemployed and was the fulltime caretaker for his mom.
We are urgently seeking your kind donations, to assist Hertley in
getting back to some semblance of normalcy in terms of daily
upkeep and lodging. Any amounts you donate will be greatly
appreciated and help the Church to better assist with this urgent
need.
